I'm Pete Rossetti. This site serves two purposes for me.
It's my web design and development consulting company, as well as a place for me to collect everything I do on the web.
A place to write about technology, standards-compliant design and life - and also a place to post photos, code, ideas and other bits and pieces.
Until recently I advertised my services via Perfect Hosts my hosting and domain name registration company. But I felt it was time to separate the two areas and give my design/development skills their own platform.
This will be my digital home along with my recently launched personal weblog petetheportal.com.
web standards
This site uses web-standard and valid XHTML for markup and CSS for its presentation and design.
There are many beneifts to creating sites with web standards, including increased accessibility, decreased page size, easier maintenence, flexibility and forward compatibility.
While the design of the site is handled with CSS that modern browsers can handle, the entire site's contents are still readable and functional in older browser versions as well as devices such as phones and PDAs.
I feel very strongly about using web standards, and will often discuss using them on this site.
